Saltwater Pools in Dubai: Why More Homeowners Are Making the Switch

If you ask a group of Dubai pool owners about their pool water experiences, the word chlorine comes up time and again. The smell it leaves on hair and skin after swimming, how it bleaches clothing, how it irritates some swimmers’ eyes, and how difficult it is to keep the chemical levels in the right range every day. These are some of the little but annoying things that happen with pools that are usually cleaned. More and more people in Dubai are looking for an alternative, especially saltwater chlorination.

https://green-creation.com/common-pool-maintenance-mistakes-to-avoid-in-dubai/ have soared in popularity with homeowners in Dubai over the past few years. Dubai swimming pool companies are receiving a lot more new pool inquiries that include questions on saltwater systems. They also say converting existing pools to saltwater operation is one of their most requested upgrades.

In this article, we will discuss what saltwater pools are, how they work, the benefits of saltwater pools, and why Green Creation is the best saltwater pool installation company in Dubai.

WHAT A SALTWATER POOL ACTUALLY IS

A “saltwater pool” isn’t always what it appears to be. Saltwater pools have a salt concentration of only about 3,000 parts per million, as opposed to seawater at 35,000 parts per million. At https://green-creation.com/professional-pool-maintenance-dubai/ , the water is just slightly salty and tastes about like tears. A salt chlorine generator (also known as an electrolytic chlorinator or saltwater chlorinator) converts the salt in the water to chlorine. The pool water is pumped through the generator cell, where an electrical current causes a chemical reaction converting dissolved sodium chloride (common salt) into hypochlorous acid—the same sanitizer used in a conventionally treated pool. When chlorine purifies water, it reverts to salt. This means that the salt remains in the filter system and only needs topping up from time to time to replace what is lost when the water is backwashed or splashed.

THE ADVANTAGES OF SALTWATER OVER CONVENTIONAL CHLORINATION

The number one benefit owners of saltwater pools rave about is the feel of the water. In addition, if you keep your saltwater pool, the water will feel more natural and softer than a chlorinated pool. It takes longer for skin to dry after swimming. Your eyes are less likely to become red and itchy. The strong chlorine smell is much weaker or not there at all. swimming pool contractors dubai are using the pool because the water feels better now. If chlorinated swimming pools are a nuisance to you, you will find yourself swimming more when the water is calmer, which is the whole point of having a pool, isn’t it?

From a control perspective, saltwater systems need less manual chemical dosing. While the pump runs, the generator will produce chlorine and keep residual levels more stable than hand dosing. The general management work is easier, although pH still must be managed (salt chlorination systems tend to raise pH, so pH dosing is usually done automatically at the same time as chlorination). Saltwater systems also remove the need for storing and handling liquid hypochlorite or granular chlorine on land, which is safer in some ways.

THE LIMITATIONS OF SALTWATER SYSTEMS

People need to be aware of the negative aspects of saltwater systems before they decide to use them. It is more costly to start. A decent salt chlorine generator and an automatic pH control system (which is pretty much a must for good water management with saltwater) will cost you an extra 15,000-25,000 AED. You pay for it in lower chemistry costs over time, but the upfront investment is real. The cell used in the salt chlorine generator has a limited life, typically lasting between four and seven years, depending on the amount of use and the care taken to control water quality. The cost of new cells can be AED 2,000- AED 5,000, so this needs to be added to the total cost of buying. A few things are a bit damaged from salt water. Saltwater can accelerate the breakdown of materials in your pool or in the surrounding area that shouldn’t be in saltwater, such as some metals, some natural stones, or some glue. If you’re designing a saltwater pool from scratch, you want to select materials that are designed to withstand saltwater. Salt chlorination systems in Dubai, where the water is hard, can accelerate the scale buildup in the generator cell and on the pool walls if the calcium hardness and pH are not properly managed. This requires ongoing monitoring and supervision.

RETROFITTING AN EXISTING POOL TO SALTWATER

Many people in Dubai want to change from chlorine pools to seThe processer pools. This is usually easy if your pool materials and tools can handle salt water. During the conversion process the water chemistry is checked and modified to meet the requirements for saltwater operation. Then add the right amount of salt to reach the desired concentration, insert the salt chlorine generator cell in the filtration loop, and finally start and program the system. Beyond installing saltwater systems in new pools, Green Creation also converts existing pools already owned by customers. The company ensures that the system is the correct size for the pool and that the water chemistry is properly configured for optimum results.

Homeowners with saltwater pools can swim much better than they ever did before. Many pool owners in Dubai never regret switching to saltwater. The weather is great for swimming and the water quality determines how much people enjoy their pools every single day. Green Creation professionals know how to build, convert and maintain saltwater pools to the highest standards.
