Swimming pool contractors in Dubai and the six kinds of company that use the name
Search for swimming pool contractors in Dubai or swimming pool construction companies in Dubai, and you get a long list of firms that all say the same thing: design, build, maintain. Behind those words sit six very different kinds of business. Some own the whole job with their own engineers and crews. Some own nothing but the sales meeting. This guide shows you how to tell them apart before you pay a deposit and explains why Green Creation built its company the way it did.
⚡ Short answer
The best pool contractors in Dubai are design-build specialists who employ their site crews, run their own plant-room and waterproofing work, and keep a service team after handover. That last part matters most: the firm that built the pool knows what is buried under the deck. Ask every company you meet which parts of the job its staff will do and which parts go to someone else. The answer tells you more than any portfolio.

A finished villa pool by Green Creation. The shell, waterproofing, plant room and deck were all done by the same team.

Why does “pool contractor” tell you so little?
In Dubai, a company can print “swimming pool contractor” on its van without ever having poured a pool shell. The trade licence decides what a firm may legally do, but the marketing decides what it says it does, and the two are often far apart. A landscaping firm, a villa fit-out company, a pump dealer and a cleaning service can all appear on the same search page for the same keyword.
That is a problem for you as the owner. A pool is a concrete tank that holds 40 to 80 tonnes of water, sits in salty ground, carries electricity a metre from bare skin, and has to work every day for twenty years or more. If the company that sells it to you does not employ the people who build it, then nobody you have a contract with is involved with the steel, pipes, or membrane.
Pool buyers in the United States and Australia have talked about these issues for years. Builders there argue openly about whether a pool company should keep its crews or hire subcontractors for each stage, and Australian buyers have learned to ask who actually stands behind a “lifetime” structural warranty. The same questions apply here. Dubai just has fewer people asking them.
So before you compare designs or prices, find out what kind of company is sitting across the table. There are six common types.
The six kinds of pool companies in Dubai
Each type below can deliver a decent pool in the right situation. Each one also has a typical way of going wrong. The table puts them side by side, and the notes under it explain what to look for.
| Type of company | What it really owns | Where it is strong | Where it usually goes wrong | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Design-build pool specialist | Design, engineering, permits, shell, waterproofing, MEP, finishes, service | One point of responsibility: knows hydraulics and water chemistry | Can be booked up; costs more than the cheapest quote | New villa pools, infinity and rooftop pools, and commercial pools |
| Landscaping firm that subcontracts the pool | Garden design and softscape; the pool goes to a third party. | Good gardens and planting plans | Pool defects fall between two companies; poor plant-room design | Garden-led projects where the pool is small and simple |
| General or villa contractor | Civil works and site management: pool is one trade among many. | Strong on structure, access and programme | Pool hydraulics are treated like house plumbing; weak turnover design. | Whole-villa builds where a pool specialist works under them |
| Shell-only civil subcontractor | Excavation, steel and concrete | Fast, cheap concrete work | No waterproofing, MEP or finish responsibility; leaves gaps at every handover | Only as a subcontractor to a pool specialist |
| Equipment supplier that installs | Pumps, filters, heat pumps, chlorinators, automation | Knows its own product range well | Sells what it stocks; little interest in the shell or deck | Plant-room upgrades and equipment swaps |
| Maintenance company that also builds | Service routes and chemicals; builds through hired crews | Understands water care and daily problems | Limited structural and permit experience | Small renovations, resurfacing, equipment repairs |

1. The design-build pool specialist
This contractor is the company that draws the pool, gets the approvals, builds it with its own people, commissions it and then services it. The same firm answers for the structural drawing, the steel, the waterproofing, the pipe pressure test and the water balance on day one. When something leaks in year three, there is no argument about whose fault it is.
Specialists cost more than the lowest bid, mostly because they do not skip the steps that nobody sees. A specialist will price a proper flood test, a separate pressure test for each pipe run, and a plant room big enough to service. Cheap quotes leave those out and nobody notices until the pool is full.
2. The landscaping company that subcontracts the pool
Plenty of Dubai garden companies sell pools. Some have a real pool division. Many pass the pool to an outside builder and add a margin. You see the garden company’s logo on the drawings and the invoice, but a different team turns up to dig.
The risk sits in the joints. The landscaper sets the deck levels and drainage, the pool builder sets the coping and the overflow, and when water ponds against the house, nobody owns the problem. US landscape trade writers have pointed out that pool subcontractors often run behind the landscape programme, and the same thing happens here in the summer months when good crews are in demand.
3. The general or villa contractor
If you are building or rebuilding a whole villa, your main contractor will offer to do the pool too. They are skilled at concrete, site logistics and permits for the house. They are often weak on pool hydraulics. A pool needs the whole volume to pass through the filter every few hours, with inlets and suctions placed so the water actually moves. House plumbers do not think that way.
The better arrangement is for a main contractor to have a pool specialist working under them, so the specialist can design and build the pool while the main contractor coordinates the site. Green Creation works this way on many villa and developer projects.
4. The shell-only civil subcontractor
These firms dig, fix steel and pour concrete, then leave. They are a normal part of the trade, and many good pools have a civil subcontractor’s work in them. The trouble starts when one of them sells directly to a homeowner as a “pool contractor.” You get a concrete box and then a list of other trades to find yourself: waterproofing, tiling, electrics, plant room, and commissioning.
5. The equipment supplier that installs
Pump and filter dealers often offer installation, and some offer full pools. Their strength lies in the plant room. Their weakness is everything else. A supplier will tend to size equipment from its own catalogue and may not ask why the existing pool has poor circulation in the first place. For an equipment upgrade on a sound pool, they can be a good choice.
6. The maintenance company that also builds
A service company sees hundreds of pools and knows what fails. That is real knowledge. But looking after water is a different job from building a reinforced tank on a high water table. When a maintenance firm takes on a new build, it usually hires a civil crew and a waterproofer for the job. Ask to see a full new-build project of theirs, with drawings. Before-and-after photos of a resurface are a different thing.
⚠️ One company can be more than one type.
Some firms are a design-build specialist on large jobs and a broker on small ones. Please ask about your project, not about the company’s best project.
In-house crews against subcontracted trades
Most of the gap between good and poor swimming pool construction in Dubai comes down to one question. Who employs the people on your plot? Here is what changes for you, the owner, depending on the answer.
| What you care about | Contractor with in-house crews | Contractor that subcontracts each trade |
|---|---|---|
| Who is on site each day? | The firm’s own foreman and team, known by name | Whichever crew is free that week |
| Programme | Set by the contractor’s own diary | Depends on other jobs the subcontractor has taken. |
| Quality standard | One standard, trained into the crew | Varies by subcontractor |
| Defects between trades | Fixed by the same firm | Argued over between firms |
| Knowledge of what is buried | Stays with the company | Leaves with the subcontractor |
| Price | Usually higher at the quote stage | Usually lower at the quote stage |
| Price at the end | Close to the quote | Variations are common. |
| After-sales service | Same company, same records | Often a third company |
Swipe the table sideways to see every column.
Subcontracting is not wrong in itself. Every builder brings in specialists for some things, such as a crane, a stone fabricator or a glass panel supplier for an acrylic window. What you want to know is whether the company you are paying builds the core of the pool. That core is the shell, the steel, the waterproofing, the pipework and the plant room.
One US builder made a good point years ago. From the customer’s side, it is almost impossible to judge the strength of a contractor’s subcontractor relationships. You cannot audit them. You can only ask who will be on site, and then check that the same names turn up.
Twelve questions that reveal what a company really is
These questions are short on purpose. A real builder answers each one in a sentence, with a name or a number. A broker answers with a brochure.
| Ask this. | A real builder says | A broker tends to say |
|---|---|---|
| Who will be the foreman on my job? | A name, and you can meet him on another site. | “We will assign the best team.” |
| Who draws the structural design? | An in-house or named consulting engineer who stamps it | “The design team handles that.” |
| Which waterproofing system is used, and who applies it? | A product name, a layer count and their own applicator | “Best quality waterproofing” |
| How long is the flood test, and can I see it? | 24 to 72 hours, with you or your consultant invited | “We test everything.” |
| What turnover rate is the pump sized for? | A number of hours and a flow in cubic metres per hour | A pump brand with no figures |
| How many inlets, skimmers and drains? | Counts that match the pool volume and DM rules | “As per standard” |
| Who pulls the permit and the developer NOC? | “We do,” with typical timings for your community | “You need to get the NOC first.” |
| Which parts of this job will you subcontract? | A short, specific list | “None,” followed by vague answers later |
| What does the warranty cover, and who honours it? | Separate terms for structure, waterproofing and equipment | One headline number, such as “10 years” |
| What will I receive at handover? | As-built drawings, test records, equipment manuals, a service plan | “Keys and a demo” |
| Can I visit a pool you built five or more years ago? | Yes, with the owner’s number | Photos of new pools only |
| Who services the pool after the defects period? | Their own service team, with the build records | A partner company |

The full scope of swimming pool construction in Dubai
A useful test of any quote is to lay it against the full list of work a pool needs. Every line below has to be done by somebody. If a quote does not name who, assume it is you.
| Work package | What it includes | What happens if nobody owns it? |
|---|---|---|
| Site survey | Access width, services, setbacks, ground level, water table check | Machines cannot reach the plot; cables hit during digging. |
| Design and engineering | Layout, sections, structural calcs, hydraulic schedule, electrical layout | Permit rejected or a shell that cracks |
| Approvals | Developer NOC, Dubai Municipality or Trakhees or DDA permit, DEWA where needed | Fines, stop orders, trouble at resale |
| Excavation and dewatering | Digging, spoil removal, pumping groundwater | Collapsed sides, flooded dig, angry neighbours |
| Shell | Blinding, steel, concrete, curing | Honeycombed concrete and exposed steel |
| Waterproofing | Membrane or cementitious system, sealing every penetration, flood test | Slow leaks that damage the villa and garden |
| Pipework | Suction and return lines, pressure testing before burial | Leaks under the deck that need breaking out |
| Electrical and bonding | Dedicated circuits, RCD protection, equipotential bonding, low-voltage lights | Shock risk and DEWA problems |
| Plant room | Pump, filter, dosing, heat pump or chiller, ventilation, drainage | Cloudy water, noisy pumps, corroded kit |
| Finishes | Tile or plaster, grout, coping, deck | Loose tiles, sharp edges, hot deck surfaces |
| Safety | Barrier, depth markings, anti-entrapment drain covers, non-slip deck | Failed inspection and real danger to children |
| Landscaping around the pool | Planting, irrigation set away from the water, shade, lighting | Leaves and soil in the pool every day |
| Commissioning | Fill, balance water, measure flow, set timers, train the owner | Algae within two weeks |
| Handover file | As-built drawings, test records, warranties, manuals | No one can repair it properly later. |

Green Creation prices every one of these lines separately and agrees on the details with the owner or architect before work starts. You can read about how that process works in the step-by-step guide to building a custom pool, and the landscaping side is covered in the guide on how to plan the pool and garden together.

Pool, deck and planting drawn on the same plan, so levels and drainage meet properly.
Shell methods and who can build each one
The shell is the part you cannot change later. The type of company you hire determines which shell methods are available to you, so it helps to know what exists.
| Shell method | How it works | Good for | Watch for | Who usually builds it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cast-in-place reinforced concrete | Steel cage inside formwork, concrete poured and vibrated | Most villa pools, infinity edges, rooftops | Cold joints, poor vibration, short curing in the heat | Specialists and general contractors |
| Sprayed concrete (shotcrete or gunite) | Concrete sprayed onto steel against the dug ground | Free-form shapes, fast shells | Rebound left in the shell, thin spots, nozzle skill | Specialists with their own rig |
| Blockwork with rendered finish | Hollow blocks filled with concrete and steel, then rendered | Small, simple, above-ground or raised pools | Cracking at joints; weak in high ground water | Small builders, landscapers |
| Fibreglass one-piece | The factory shell is lowered into a prepared hole. | Quick installs on plots with crane access | Limited sizes; lifting if drained on a high water table | Importers and dealers |
| Stainless steel or modular panel | Factory panels bolted or welded on site | Rooftops, indoor pools, premium projects | Cost: needs specialist welders | Specialist suppliers with an installer |

For most Dubai villas, a cast-in-place or sprayed reinforced concrete shell with a proper membrane is the safe choice. More detail on materials for pool construction in Dubai’s climate and torch membrane waterproofing in Dubai.
Dubai conditions every builder has to handle
A pool in Surrey or Sydney does not face the same challenges as a pool in Dubai. These four local forces separate skilled pool builders in Dubai from firms that copy foreign specifications.
Heat during the pour
Concrete poured in 45°C air loses water too fast and cracks on the surface. Good crews pour early in the morning, use chilled water or ice in the mix when the batching plant allows, keep the shell wet under hessian or curing compound, and plan around the work ban during the summer midday hours. A contractor that pours at noon in July has told you something about its standards.
Ground water and salty soil
On the Palm, in Jumeirah and near the creek, ground water can sit less than two metres down. It pushes up on an empty shell, and it carries chlorides and sulphates that attack steel and concrete. The design needs enough concrete cover over the steel, sulphate-resisting mixes where the soil report calls for them, a hydrostatic relief valve, and a rule that the pool is never fully drained without an engineer’s check. Read more in Pool Structural and Surface Integrity.
Soft top-up water
Dubai’s tap water comes mainly from desalination, so it arrives low in calcium. Water that is short of calcium pulls it from wherever it can, which means grout, plaster and render. A builder who knows this specifies epoxy or high-performance cementitious grout and hands the pool over with a calcium hardness target as well as a chlorine reading. Our guide to water chemistry management explains the numbers.
Dust and sand
Fine dust lands in Dubai pools every day and sinks before the skimmer sees it. That makes it a filtration problem first. Pumps and filters need to be sized with headroom, floor returns or a robot cleaner help, and the filter media choice matters. See filtration system engineering and filter media maintenance.
Permits and Dubai Municipality pool rules
Which authority approves your pool depends on where the plot sits. Mainland villas go through Dubai Municipality. Areas under Trakhees, such as the Nakheel and Dubai Holding communities, follow its process, and the Dubai Development Authority covers its own free zones. Almost every master community also wants a developer NOC first. A good contractor handles all of these tasks for you and knows the usual timings in your community.
The table lists the technical points from Dubai Municipality’s guidelines for swimming pool plans that most often come up at approval or inspection.
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Turnover | Full pool volume filtered in no more than 4 hours |
| Inlets | At least 1 inlet per 45 m³ of water |
| Skimmers and drains | At least 2 skimmers and 2 main drains, with anti-entrapment covers |

| Deck width | At least 1 m around private pools, 1.5 m around public pools |
| Deck fall | 1:40 away from the water |
| Floor slope | No steeper than 1:3 |
| Ladders | Where depth passes 60 cm and 1 per 30 m of perimeter |
| Steps | About 280 mm tread and 250 mm riser |
| Handrail | Needed where steps lead into water deeper than 1 m |
| Barrier | Around 1.2 m high where children may have access |
| Depth markings | Clearly shown on the deck and walls |
| Jacuzzi | Maximum 90 cm deep, with an emergency stop |
| Children’s pool | Maximum 50 cm deep |

The build programme and who should be on site
A typical 8 m by 4 m villa pool takes about 10 to 14 weeks once approvals are in. The timeline matters less than who turns up at each stage. With a design-build specialist, the right-hand column is all one company.
| Stage | Typical time | Who should be there? | What you should receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Survey and brief | 1 visit | Designer and site engineer | Site notes and a budget range |
| 2. Design and pricing | 1 to 3 weeks | Designer, structural engineer, estimator | Drawings and an itemised quote |
| 3. NOC and permit | 2 to 6 weeks | Approvals coordinator | Copies of each approval |
| 4. Set-out and excavation | 3 to 7 days | Foreman, surveyor, machine operator | Set out sign-off. |
| 5. Steel fixing | 4 to 7 days | Steel fixers and site engineers | Steel inspection record |
| 6. Pipework rough-in | 2 to 4 days | Pool plumbers | Pressure test results per line |
| 7. Concrete pour and curing | 1 day pour, 7 to 14 days wet cure | Concrete crew and engineer | Delivery tickets and cube test results |
| 8. Waterproofing and flood test | 1 to 2 weeks | Waterproofing applicators | Product data and flood test record |
| 9. Electrical and plant room | 1 to 2 weeks | Electricians and pool technicians | Bonding test and circuit schedule |
| 10. Tiling, coping and deck | 2 to 3 weeks | Tilers and stone masons | Material list with batch numbers |
| 11. Landscaping around the pool | 1 to 2 weeks | Landscape team | Planting and irrigation plan |
| 12. Fill, commission, hand over | 3 to 7 days | Commissioning technician | Handover file and service plan |

If six different company names appear in that right-hand column, you are the one coordinating them, whatever the contract says. More on timelines in what to expect during pool construction and costs, materials and timelines.

Green Creation keeps its own crews for the shell, waterproofing, plumbing and plant room.
Warranties, and who can actually honour them
Australian pool buyers have a habit worth copying. When a builder offers a “lifetime” structural warranty, they ask whose lifetime it is, what exactly is covered, and whether ground movement counts. In Dubai, the headline number is often “10 years”; the same questions apply.
UAE law already imposes long liability on contractors and engineers for structural failure of buildings and fixed structures. That protection only helps if the company still exists and if the contract names it as the builder, not a subcontractor you never signed with. Here is how cover usually splits.
| Part of the pool | Typical cover | Who should stand behind it? | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|---|
| Structural shell | Long-term, often 10 years | The contractor named on the contract | Is ground water lifting excluded? |
| Waterproofing | 5 to 10 years | Contractor, backed by the product maker | Who applied it, and is the maker’s warranty registered? |
| Buried pipework | 2 to 5 years | Contractor | Do you have the pressure test records? |
| Pumps, filters, heat pumps | 1 to 3 years from the maker | Maker, handled by the contractor | Who removes and returns faulty units? |
| Tiles and grout | 1 to 2 years workmanship | Contractor | Is grout loss from soft water covered? |
| Defects liability period | Usually 12 months | Contractor | How quickly do you respond to a call? |
Swipe the table sideways to see every column.
A warranty is a promise from a company. The six types of company described above have completely unique abilities to keep it. A landscaper who subcontracted the pool cannot fix the shell. A pump dealer cannot repair a membrane. The firm that built the whole thing, with its own people and its own records, is the one that can do it.
Ten years of ownership and the build choices behind it
The quote is the smallest number you will pay. Over ten years, power, water, chemicals, service and repairs usually add up to more than the build. Most of those running costs are fixed by decisions made in the first month of the project.
| Build a decision. | Cheap version | Better version | What it changes over ten years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pump | Single-speed | Variable-speed | Pump power use can fall by more than half. |
| Pipe sizing | Small pipes, many bends | Larger pipes, sweep bends | Less pump strain and noise, longer motor life |
| Waterproofing | Single coat, no flood test | Full system with sealed penetrations and a witnessed flood test | Avoids a full drain-down repair later |
| Grout | Standard cement grout | Epoxy or pool-rated grout | Fewer regrouts and loose tiles |
| Cover | None | Automatic or thermal cover | Less evaporation, dust and chemical use |
| Water treatment | Manual chlorine | Salt chlorination or automatic dosing with probes | Steadier water and fewer algae calls |
| Temperature | No heating or cooling | Reversible heat pump or chiller | The pool is usable in August and January. |
| Lighting | Halogen | LED | Much lower power use and fewer bulb changes |
| Plant room | Cramped box in the sun | Shaded, vented room to work | Longer equipment life and cheaper service |

What a pool costs in Dubai
These are market ranges for complete, permitted pools on normal villa plots, before VAT. Your price depends on access, ground conditions, finish and equipment. Use them to spot quotes that are far too low, not as a quote.
| Pool type | Typical range (AED) | What pushes it up |
|---|---|---|
| Plunge pool | 55,000-120,000 | Cooling, jets, glass walls |
| Fibreglass pool | 75,000-180,000 | Crane access, shell size |
| Concrete pool, about 6 m by 3 m | 90,000-170,000 | Groundwater, finish, heat pump |
| Concrete pool, about 8 m by 4 m | 120,000-230,000 | Deck area, automation, cover |
| Lap pool | 180,000-500,000 | Length, counter-current jets |
| Infinity or overflow pool | 280,000-500,000 and above | Balance tank, structure, height |
| Rooftop or indoor pool | Priced per project | Structural checks, lifting, ventilation |
Swipe the table sideways to see every column.
A quote 30 to 40 per cent below the others usually means missing lines, not a better deal. Compare quotes line by line using the scope table above. For a more profound look, read the cost of building a pool in Dubai and budget against high-end pools.
Red flags that point to a broker
- The company cannot name the foreman or engineer who will run your job.
- The quote is one page with a single total.
- Waterproofing is written as “waterproofing” with no product or layer count.
- There is no flood test in the programme.
- The pump is listed by brand but not by flow rate.
- You are asked to get the NOC or permit yourself.
- Over half the money is due before the shell is poured.
- The office address is a shared desk with no yard, store or vehicles.
- Every reference pool is less than a year old.
- After-sales service is “through our partner”.
If two or more of these apply, please reach out to the company directly to enquire about which parts of the job will be subcontracted. Then read about common pitfalls when hiring pool professionals and pool construction mistakes to avoid.
Commercial, rooftop and infinity projects
The gap between company types grows with bigger jobs. A hotel pool has to meet public pool rules, carry a bather load, run automatic dosing and pass health inspections. A rooftop pool adds structural checks on the slab and a lifting plan. An infinity edge needs a balance tank sized for bathers, wind and evaporation, and an edge level that is within a few millimetres along its whole length.
These are not jobs for a broker. If you are a developer or facilities manager, look for a contractor who has done the same type of pool before, and ask for the hydraulic calculation along with the render. Our project pages cover commercial pool construction, rooftop pools, infinity pools and indoor pools, along with commercial pool maintenance.

Overflow edges require a balance tank and careful levelling along their full length.
After handover
Once the pool is full, the contractor’s records become the most useful thing you own. A pool company that builds and services knows where every pipe runs, which membrane sits under the tiles, and what flow the pump was set to on day one. That makes faults quicker to find and cheaper to fix.
Routine care
Most Dubai villa pools need a weekly service during summer. That means skimming, brushing, vacuuming, checking the filter pressure, testing the water and adjusting chemicals. Our pages on weekly pool cleaning, villa pool maintenance, residential pool maintenance and swimming pool cleaning describe what each visit should include.
Water quality
Keep pH between about 7.2 and 7.6, free chlorine between 1 and 3 mg/l, and watch calcium hardness and stabiliser levels, because Dubai’s evaporation slowly concentrates stabiliser until chlorine stops working well. See pool water testing, pH and alkalinity, controlled chemical dosing, and algae prevention.
Equipment
Pumps and motors work hard in a hot plant room. A yearly check of flow, amp draw and seals catches most failures early. Read pump, motor and electrical diagnostics and hydraulic flow-rate assessment.
Repair and renovation
Older pools often need new grout, new equipment or a resurface. Some need structural repair. Our pool repair team covers leak detection, saltwater pool repair, and full pool renovation. For planned care, look at preventive maintenance planning and annual maintenance contracts.

Frequently asked questions
Who are the best swimming pool contractors in Dubai?
The best ones are design-build companies that employ their own site crews, handle the permits, build the shell and plant room themselves, and keep a service team after handover. Green Creation works this way, with 8,940 completed projects and clients such as Emaar, Meraas and Hilton. Whoever you hire, ask which parts of the job their staff will do.
How can I tell if a pool company subcontracts the work?
Ask for the name of the foreman who will run your job and which trades they will subcontract. Then visit one of their live sites. If the people on that site wear another company’s uniform, or the firm has no yard, store or vehicles of its own, it is probably passing the work on.
Is it bad if a pool contractor uses subcontractors?
Not always. Every builder hires some specialists, such as cranes or stone cutters. The risk comes when the core of the pool, meaning the shell, waterproofing, pipework and plant room, is built by firms you have no contract with. Then defects get argued over instead of fixed.
Should I let my landscaping company build my pool?
Only if it has its own pool division with engineers and crews. Many landscapers pass the pool to an outside builder. Ask to see a pool they built themselves, with drawings, and ask who will honour the structural warranty.
Can my villa’s main contractor build the pool?
They can, but pool hydraulics are a specialist job. The safer setup is to have a main contractor with a pool specialist working under them. Green Creation often works in that role on villa and developer projects.
How long does swimming pool construction in Dubai take?
A standard 8 m by 4 m concrete villa pool takes about 10 to 14 weeks on site once the NOC and permit are approved. Approvals add roughly 2 to 6 weeks depending on the community and the authority.
How much does a swimming pool cost in Dubai?
Most concrete villa pools fall between about AED 90,000 and 230,000 before VAT, depending on size, ground conditions, finish and equipment. Plunge pools can start near AED 55,000, and infinity pools often pass AED 280,000.
Why do pool quotes in Dubai vary so much?
This is because they rarely cover the same work. Cheap quotes often leave out the flood test, the permit, the plant room, the deck or the landscaping. Line each quote up against a full scope list, and the gap usually closes.
Do I need a permit to build a pool in Dubai?
Yes. Mainland villas need Dubai Municipality approval, and communities under Trakhees or the Dubai Development Authority follow their own process. Most master communities also require a developer NOC first. Your contractor should handle all of it.
What Dubai Municipality rules apply to private pools?
The main ones are a filtration turnover of no more than 4 hours, at least 1 inlet per 45 cubic metres, 2 skimmers and 2 main drains with anti-entrapment covers, a deck at least 1 m wide falling 1:40 away from the water, and a barrier around 1.2 m high where children can reach the pool.
Which shell type is best for a Dubai villa pool?
For most villas, a reinforced concrete shell, either cast in place or sprayed, with a proper waterproofing membrane. It handles custom shapes, infinity edges and the high ground water found in coastal areas.
Why does groundwater matter for a pool in Dubai?
On the Palm, in Jumeirah and near the creek, ground water can sit close to the surface. It pushes up on an empty shell and carries salts that attack steel and concrete. The design needs good concrete cover, the right cement and a relief valve, and the pool should not be drained without an engineer’s check.
What warranty should a Dubai pool contractor give?
Look for separate terms for the structure, waterproofing, buried pipework, equipment and tiling, plus a defects period of about 12 months. A single headline number tells you little. Check who is responsible for each part.
What should I receive when my pool is handed over?
You should receive as-built drawings, flood test and pressure test records, equipment manuals and warranties, a water chemistry record from commissioning, and a service plan. Without these, later repairs take longer and cost more.
Does it matter who maintains the pool after it is built?
Yes. The company that built it knows where the pipes run and what sits under the tiles. Green Creation’s service team works from the build records and uses its commercial divers for many underwater repairs without draining the pool.
Are fibreglass pools a good option in Dubai?
They install quickly and suit plots with crane access. The sizes are fixed, and a drained fibreglass shell can lift on a high water table. They work best on inland plots with low groundwater.
Is it possible to build a pool on a rooftop in Dubai?
Yes, but the slab must be checked by a structural engineer first, and the pool needs a lifting plan, careful waterproofing and access for service. It is specialist work and should go to a contractor who has worked on rooftops before.
What payment schedule is normal for a pool build?
Payments should follow physical stages, such as excavation, shell, waterproofing, plant room and handover, with a small sum held back until the defects period ends. Be wary of paying more than half before the shell is poured.
How do I make my pool cheaper to run?
Ask for a variable-speed pump, larger pipes with sweep bends, LED lights, a cover, and salt or automatic dosing. These choices, made at the design stage, cut power, chemical, and service costs for years.
Does Green Creation also do pool renovation and repair?
Yes. Green Creation repairs leaks, cracks and equipment faults, regrouts and resurfaces older pools, and upgrades plant rooms. Every pool is audited, and its fill water is tested before we quote.
